খবরইন্ডিয়াঅনলাইনঃ শীর্ষ পবিত্র স্থান মক্কার মসজিদ আল-হারাম-এ একটি বড় ক্রেইন ভেঙ্গে পড়ে। এতে মসজিদের ছাদ ধসে অন্তত ১০৮ জন হাজি নিহত হয়েছেন। এ ঘটনায় আহত হয়েছেন কমপক্ষে ২৩৮ জন।
তবে দুর্ঘটনা সম্পর্কে এখনও কোন তথ্য জানাতে পারেনি সৌদি কর্তৃপক্ষ।
ঘটনাস্থল থেকে পাওয়া ছবি দেখে মনে হচ্ছে একটি বড় ক্রেন মসজিদের ছাদ ভেঙ্গে পড়েছে। দুর্ঘটনার সময় মক্কায় প্রচণ্ড বাতাস ও ঝড় হচ্ছিল। দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে এমন সময় যখন মক্কা শহরে বাৎসরিক হজ্জের প্রস্তুতি চলছে।
এই মাসে পবিত্র হজ্জ পালনের জন্য লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষ বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চল থেকে সৌদি আরবের এই শহরে আসবেন।
মসজিদ আল-হারাম-এ নামাজিদের সংখ্যা প্রতি বছর বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ায় গত বছর সৌদি কর্তৃপক্ষ মসজিদ সম্প্রসারণের কাজ শুরু করে।
শুক্রবারে যে ক্রেন মসজিদের ছাদ ভেঙ্গে পরে সেটা সম্প্রসারণের কাজে ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছিল।
ইসলাম ধর্মের সব চেয়ে পবিত্র এই মসজিদের কেন্দ্রস্থলে কা’বা অবস্থিত, যার দিকে মুখ করে মুসলমানরা নামায পড়েন।
মক্কার মসজিদ আল-হারাম-এ ক্রেন ভেঙে পড়ার ঘটনায় অন্তত ৪০ জন বাংলাদেশী আহত হয়েছেন বলে জানিয়েছেন সৌদি আরবে নিযুক্ত বাংলাদেশের রাষ্ট্রদূত গোলাম মসীহ। তবে তিনি জানিয়েছেন এই দুর্ঘটনায় কোনও বাংলাদেশী নিহত হবার খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।
