পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর:- অবলা প্রাণীরও প্রান আছে – এ কথা যেন ভুলেই যেতে বসেছে শহরবাসী । আর তাই সচেতনতা বাড়াতে অভিনব উদ্যোগ নিল পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলা পুলিশ । শনিবার সকালে মেদিনীপুর কোতোয়ালি থানার উদ্যোগে বাইক র্যালি করে কুকুর থেকে শুরু করে সমস্ত অবলা প্রাণীর পাশে থাকার জন্য সচেতনতা প্রচার চালায় পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলা পুলিশ । সম্প্রতি মেদিনীপুর শহরে অ্যাসিড হামলা থেকে বিষ খাইয়ে কুকুর-বিড়ালের মৃত্যুর ঘটনা সংবাদ শিরোনামে উঠে এসেছে । এরপরই জেলা প্রশাসনের তরফ থেকে সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধির উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয় । আগামী দিনেও পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন মেদিনীপুর জেলা পুলিশ ।
