কলকাতার ফুটবল ময়দানের পরিচিত মুখ ছিলেন অঞ্জন মিত্র। কলকাতার ফুটবল এবং অঞ্জন মিত্র নাম যেন একে অপরের পরিপূরক ছিল। ফুটবল টিম গঠনে তার ভূমিকা অন্য মাত্রায় পৌঁছে দিত। ফুটবলের দলবদলের মরসুমে অঞ্জন মিত্র টেক্কা দিতেন আর সকলকে। সেই মানুষটিকে আর দেখতে পাবেনা কলকাতা ফুটবল ময়দান। চিরতরে চলে গেলেন মোহনবাগান ক্লাবের প্রাক্তন সচিব অঞ্জন মিত্র। কিডনির সমস্যা নিয়ে গত সোমবার বাইপাসের ধারে একটি বেসরকারি হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয় তাঁকে। শুক্রবার ভোর ৩টা ১০ নাগাদ তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়। দীর্ঘদিন কিডনি সমস্যায় ভুগছিলেন তিনি। গত সোমবার অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন মোহন বাগানের প্রাক্তন সচিব। তাঁর চিকিৎসা চলছিল। তাঁর দেহ ট্যাংড়ার বাড়িতে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। তারপর মোহন বাগান ক্লাবে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। তিনি মোহনবাগান সচিব ছিলেন প্রায় দু দশক ধরে। তিনি ছিলেন মোহনবাগান অন্ত প্রাণ।
