তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের প্রার্থী হিসেবে রাজ্যসভার জন্য মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দিলেন অর্পিতা ঘোষ এবং মৌসম বেনজির নূর। কংগ্রেসের অপর দুই প্রার্থী সুব্রত বক্সী এবং দীনেশ ত্রিবেদী আগেই মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দিয়েছেন। শুক্রবার বিধানসভায় গিয়ে মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দেন অর্পিতা এবং মৌসম। দল তাদের প্রার্থী করায় উচ্ছ্বসিত তাঁরা দুজনেই। দলনেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় কে অভিনন্দন জানান মৌসম এবং অর্পিতা। মৌসম বলেন মালদা থেকে এর আগে কেউ কোনদিন রাজ্যসভায় যাননি। দলনেত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সেই সুযোগ তাঁকে করে দিয়েছেন। তিনি দুবার লোকসভায় নির্বাচিত হয়ে কাজ করেছেন। এবার রাজ্যসভায়ও তিনি নিজের সেরা কাজটা করার চেষ্টা করবেন।
