আম্ফানের বাধা কাটিয়ে নতুন করে গড়ে উঠেছিল মৌসুনীদ্বীপ। ফের ইয়াসের ঝড়ে তছনছ হয়ে গেছে চারটি মৌজার পনেরোটি গ্রামের সবকিছু। জলের তোড়ে ভেসে গেছে সমস্ত মাটির ঘর বাড়ি। নষ্ট হয়ে গেছে কৃষি জমি। রোজগার তো দুরের কথা প্রতিদিন কি খাবেন তা নিয়ে খুবই চিন্তিত মৌসুনীদ্বীপ ও তার আসপাশের এলাকার মানুষ। এই পরিস্থিতিতে এলাকার প্রায় ২০ হাজার মানুষকে দু বেলা রান্না করা খাবার তুলে দিচ্ছে ভারত সেবাশ্রম সঙ্ঘ।
সঙ্ঘের প্রধান সম্পাদক স্বামী বিশ্বাত্মানন্দ মহারাজ বলেন, মৌসুনীদ্বীপ ছাড়াও দক্ষিন ২৪ পরগনার নামখানা ব্লকের পাতিবোনিয়া,দ্বারিকনগর,চাঁদপুর,দুর্গাপুর,ঈশ্বরীপুর, নাদাভাঙা,নারায়নপুর,ফেজারগঞ্জ,বুধাখালি,নিউ বকখালি ও উত্তর চন্দনপিড়ির প্রায় ২০ হাজার মানুষকে রান্না করা খাবার, ৮ হাজার জলবন্দি মানুষকে শুকনো খাবার ও জামা,কাপড়,ত্রিপল সহ নানা নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় জিনিস প্রতিদিন তুলে দেওয়া হচ্ছে ভারত সেবাশ্রম সঙ্ঘের পক্ষ থেকে। সঙ্ঘের প্রধান কার্যালয় কলকাতার বালিগঞ্জ থেকে সন্নাসী ও স্বেচ্ছাসেবকরা এলাকায় গিয়ে কাজ করছেন।
