আপাতত 22 শে জানুয়ারি পুর নির্বাচন পেছাতে চাই না রাজ্য নির্বাচন কমিশন। কলকাতা হাইকোর্টে এমনটাই জানান রাজ‍্যে নির্বাচন কমিশন। পাশাপাশি নির্বাচন কমিশনের আইনজীবী যুক্তি দেন লোকাল ট্রেন স্টেশন রেল স্টেশন হাটে বাজারে মানুষ ভিড় করছে এই পরিস্থিতিতে আমরা সমস্তটাই কোভিদ বিধি মেনে পুরো নির্বাচনের প্রস্তুতি নিয়েছি। ইতিমধ্যেই নির্বাচন ঘোষণা হয়ে গিয়েছে স্বাভাবিকভাবেই 22 তারিখ নির্বাচন করা হবে। হাওড়া পৌরসভা নির্বাচন নিয়ে কলকাতা হাইকোর্টের প্রধান বিচারপতি ডিভিশন বেঞ্চে মামলার শুনানি হয়েছে, মামলা চলাকালীন সরকারি আইনজীবী প্রধান বিচারপতিকে দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করে বলেছেন, বোঝার ভুলের কারণে আমি হাওড়া পুরসভা বিল সংক্রান্ত বিষয়ে রাজ্যপাল সম্মতি দিয়েছেন। বলে জানিয়েছেন হাইকোর্টে তার জন্য আমি ক্ষমাপ্রার্থী। এই নিয়ে মামলাকারীদের বক্তব্য হাওড়া পৌরসভা নির্বাচন রাজ্য সরকার করাতে চাইছে না।
