শুক্রবার রাজ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনের দপ্তরে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বৈঠকে তার যে নির্বাচন কমিশনার রাজীব সিনহা সহ আধিকারিকরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। উপস্থিত ছিলেন রাজ্যের স্বরাষ্ট্র সচিবসহ অন্যান্য উচ্চ আধিকারিকরা।

পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনে কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনীকে কিভাবে কাজে লাগানো হবে তা নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বৈঠক রাজ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনে হয়ে গেল শুক্রবার। উপদ্রুত এলাকা চিহ্নিত করা সেই সঙ্গে স্পর্শকাতর এলাকায় কিভাবে অশান্তি ঠেকানো যায় তা নিয়ে রাজ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনারের সঙ্গে আলোচনা করেন স্বরাষ্ট্র সচিব বি পি গোপালিকা ও এডিজি আইনশৃঙ্খলা জাভেদ শামিম। মনোনয়নপত্র জমা দেওয়াকে কেন্দ্র করে ইতিমধ্যেই বেশ কয়েকটি জায়গায় অশান্তির ঘটনা ঘটেছে। একই সঙ্গে উপদ্রুত জেলা, স্পর্শকাতর এলাকা চিহ্নিতকরণের কাজ শুরু করার নির্দেশ সংশ্লিষ্ট জেলা প্রশাসনকে।

দুই ২৪ পরগনা ও মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার উত্তেজনা প্রবণ এলাকা ও বুথগুলিকে চিহ্নিত করার কাজ চলছে। সেই সঙ্গে কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনীকে কোথায় কিভাবে কাজে লাগানো হবে তাও আলোচনা হয়েছে। তবে কত পরিমান কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী চাওয়া হবে তার নিয়ে এখনও পর্যন্ত চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত হয়নি বলেই রাজ্য নির্বাচন কমিশন সূত্রে খবর।
