পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর : একমাস ধরে ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ’ নিয়ে বিশেষ কর্মসূচী পালন করবেপশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলা পুলিশ।আজ জেলা শাসক এর সামনে এই কর্মসূচীর আনুষ্ঠানিক সূচনা হয়।সূচনা অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলা পরিষদ এর সভাধিপতি উত্তরা সিং হাজরা,পুলিশ সুপার অলোক রাজোরিয়া, জেলা তৃনমূলের সভাপতি অজিত কুমার মাইতি, জেলা পিপি রাজকুমার দাস,বিশিষ্টবী বিশ্বনাথ পান্ডব সহ অন্যান্য বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ। ওই অনুষ্ঠানে বিভিন্ন স্কুলের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা অংশ নেয়। পরে শহরে পথ নিরাপত্তা নিয়ে সচেতনতা মূলক একটি শোভাযাত্রা করা হয়।
অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত বক্তাগণ জানান “মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় দুর্ঘটনা কমাতে সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ নিয়ে সচেতনতা বাড়ানোর উদ্যোগ নিয়েছেন। পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর এ সেই উদ্যোগকে সামনে রেখে এক মাস ধরে নানা কর্মসূচী গ্রহণ করবে পুলিশ।আজ তাঁর সূচনা হল।” পুলিশ সুপার আলোক রাজরিয়া বলেন, “এদিন শুরু হয়ে ১৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি পর্যন্ত ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ’ নিয়ে নানা কর্মসূচী পালন করা হবে।আজ তাঁর উদ্বোধন হল। স্কুলের ছাত্রছাত্রী, তাঁদের অভিভাবক, বিভিন্ন স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্থা আজকের অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।”
